EchoDepth Insight vs SurveyMonkey
SurveyMonkey captures responses. EchoDepth captures reactions. One is chosen. The other cannot be faked.
The problem with survey-only research
SurveyMonkey and comparable tools are fast, scalable and inexpensive, which is exactly why they are the right instrument for a great many questions: factual data collection, preference ranking between defined options, and tracking a consistent metric over time. The limits show up when the question is emotional rather than factual. Social desirability pressure suppresses negative responses, survey fatigue shortens and flattens free-text answers, and a rating scale records a judgement about a feeling rather than the feeling itself. EchoDepth is not a cheaper or better survey tool — it is a different measurement. For research it captures emotional response before it is put into words; for workforce data it scores the open text a survey already collected. If your question is what people think, a survey answers it. If it is what they feel, it does not.
How EchoDepth Insight complements survey data
EchoDepth Insight does not replace surveys. It adds the layer surveys cannot reach: real-time emotional signal during the moment of stimulus exposure. When a research participant rates your new product concept 7 out of 10, EchoDepth shows you the suppression event at the 12-second mark that explains what a 7 actually means.
